We are to have our fist “Sunday Afternoon Shindig” in 2010, at my local pub “The BlackBird” in Ponteland, the pub is under new management, ‘Head Honsho’ Justin Wray-Bradshaw, you will find a friendly welcome at The BlackBird, real fire, real ale, excellent food, the pub was originally built as a castle in the 14^th century, in 1388 the Scott’s invaded the castle during the Battle of Otterburn and burned it to the ground, along with the rest of Ponteland! It was then rebuilt as a family home, many features of the castle still exist, in 1935, Robert Deuchar restored it as an Inn, it is now about to be besieged by “The Happy Cats” on Sunday 31^st January 2010, this date will go down in history!

Sunday lunch is served between 12.00 and 4.00 the band will be on stage at 5.00 till 6.00 and then 6.30 till 7.30ish!!

So please join me for a pint in my local, a spot of lunch, and some “Happy Cat Ya-Hoo”!!
